PeopleNet, a provider of integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems for fleet management, announced it has partnered with PAR Logistics Management Systems, a provider of refrigerated and non-refrigerated trailer management technology.

PeopleNet says the partnership will enable it to combine its onboard computing and mobile communications systems with PAR’s complete suite of trailer management products to provide customers with a fully integrated user interface, both in the cab and back office.

PeopleNet customers will be able to locate trailers, manage trailer pools, set trailer temperatures and many other functions through the PeopleNet Fleet Manager web-based interface, says John Sammon III, president of PAR LMS.

This partnership and integration will be the core of the PeopleNet Trailer Management product portfolio, the company says. This is in addition to PeopleNet’s existing in-cab capabilities, which include electronic onboard recording, vehicle and driver performance management, automated driver workflow, electronic hours of service and more.

Notable carriers that use PAR LMS today include Ryder, C.R. England, Target, J.B. Hunt and NFI, Sammon says. PAR Technology, the parent company of PAR LMS, is a 42-year old company with 2,000 employees in 90 countries that specializes in inventory management and point-of-sale software to the restaurant and hospitality industries.
