Swift Transportation announced that it has signed with Internet-based freight matching service Internet Truckstop and Registry Monitoring Insurance Service to implement Carrier Registration Service Plus, a tool designed to allow companies to reduce the time it takes to qualify new carriers and onboard them into their transportation management systems.

RMIS says CRS Plus will provide Swift the flexibility to design a self-branded, customized and user-friendly Website that new carriers can visit to be qualified instantly against customized rules and provide profile information, including contacts, equipment, lanes and commodities they haul; a carrier then will view and sign Swift’s master agreements. Carrier members of Internet Truckstop that wish to register with Swift will find a direct link to the site under the CRS Plus Link found on truckstop.com or directly at swifttrans.com.

CRS Plus provides the client with carrier profile information as well as W-9 data and certificate of insurance information directly from the insurance producer, along with information on authority status, safety ratings and Compliance Safety Accountability Scores directly from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

RMIS says CRS Plus takes away the hassle of ongoing compliance tracking for existing carriers by daily monitoring of insurance, U.S. Department of Transportation authority and safety information. Swift can retrieve the updated information in real time either directly from its custom-built Website or via direct integration between RMIS and the Phoenix-based carrier’s TMS.
