Penske Used Trucks has launched a new mobile website for online truck shopping for its customers. Penske sells a wide range of commercial heavy-duty semi-tractors, medium-duty straight trucks, light-duty trucks, and semi-trailers.
“Our full inventory is available on the mobile site and we update it daily,” said Jack Mitchell, vice president remarketing at Penske Truck Leasing. “On any given day, there are 4,000 box trucks, tractors, trailers and related commercial transportation equipment listed for sale.”
The new mobile website for Penske Used Trucks has larger navigational items, simple icons and minimal text allowing smartphone users to search, compare and review the company’s extensive catalog of vehicles for sale. Tablet users are directed to Penske’s desktop version.
“Traffic to our site from smartphones has tripled over the past two years,” said Ann Cosfol, director of interactive marketing, Penske Truck Leasing. “Our goal with the new mobile site is to provide our customers with the same search, compare and share experience they currently enjoy with our desktop version.”
Customers still complete their used truck purchases by contacting Penske Used Truck’s call center. Penske’s use of technology in marketing its used vehicles online recently earned it fourth place on the 2013 InformationWeek 500 list.
