EROAD announced the commercial availability of its Electronic Logging Device (ELD) during the Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) annual meeting Sunday in Nashville, Tenn.
The service is the first to register in-vehicle device with the FMCSA, the company says.
“Our 17 years of experience in trucking technology and management solutions led to the design and development of what will currently be the only FMCSA-registered provider to offer permanent in-cab hardware as part of a comprehensive ELD solution,” said Norm Ellis, president of EROAD.
“We took the regulations and built hundreds of tests and passed them all. Our ELD will be independently verified to insure that not only do our tests pass, but so do theirs. It’s critical to demonstrate that it will pass independent tests as well and we believe it certainly will.”
EROAD’s ELD features a driver friendly display and transfer capabilities for facilitating roadside enforcement and reducing administrative time and paperwork, the company says.
Drivers and fleet managers can easily monitor hours of service records with summaries and reports of on-duty status, rests and resets.
The new EROAD ELD also provides fleet managers the ability to review and edit logs that drivers can accept on the in-vehicle display.
EROAD’s ELD utilizes a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides commercial vehicle operators with additional compliance and operational solutions including fuel tax management, GPS tracking and driver performance monitoring.
Ellis says the “technology is built on four nines of technology and that reliability is absolutely critical.”
