The national average price for a gallon of on-highway diesel fell again in the week ended Nov. 4, dropping 1.3 cents to $3.857, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration.

Class 8 net orders in September totaled 19,018 units, says ACT research in its monthly report, released in October. September is usually the second weakest month of the year, ACT said, orders were expected to be “modest.”

The DOE has once again changed its projection for diesel prices in 2013, this time downwardly revising an early September forecast that it would average $3.96 a gallon to this week’s projection that it will only average $3.93 a gallon.
