An FMCSA committee wants to see a law that would require motor carriers to compensate drivers for time spent working (on duty) but not driving as well as provide minimum pay guarantees. Drivers will have to embrace electronic logs and other in-cab technology to have a chance.

FMCSA publishes proposed driver clearinghouse rule, accepting comment until April 21
FMCSA published Feb. 20 a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that when made final will establish a database of drivers who have failed or refused to take a drug or alcohol test. The agency will accept comment for 60 days on the rule and its provisions.
