Used truck market to see flood of supply in coming years, prices expected to fall
“Used truck supply goes a long way in determining the environment” for pricing, said Arrow Truck Sales President Steve Clough. “The supply of used trucks has already been determined based on what was retailed 3, 4 and 5 years ago. That’s a wall of inventory that’s coming.”

Per-mile rates on the spot market mostly continued to tumble in August, according to monthly rate data from Truckstop.com. Reefer rates were the lone bright spot in the month’s rates report, climbing 4 cents a mile. Dry van and flatbed rates both posted declines.
