A study from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville concludes that carriers shouldn’t pass on the extra costs of complying with the July 1 hours-of-service rules to shippers or customers, lest they want to potentially “fatigue” their relationship they have with them, the study says.

FMCSA waives hours-of-service rules for propane haulers in 24 states in East, Midwest
In response to a request letter sent to the DOT by the National Propane Gas Association, FMCSA has issued an hours-of-service exemption to propane haulers in 24 states due to “extreme arctic cold weather” that has caused shortages of propane in affected areas.
