OOIDA wants to court to reevaluate ELD decision, will push for rehearing
The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association intends to file a motion asking the court that heard its lawsuit against the U.S. DOT’s electronic logging device mandate to rehear its case. The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the DOT’s ELD mandate in an Oct. 31-issued decision.

OOIDA files challenge to 2015 FMCSA med exam rule over sleep apnea provision
The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association has filed a challenge with a federal appeals court against a 2015 U.S. DOT rule that altered the driver medical examination process. OOIDA claims the DOT slipped in a provision on sleep apnea screening into the final rule that was not included in the proposed rule, thereby bypassing the legal rulemaking process.

Gas haulers in Alabama get temporary hours of service exemption
Colonial Pipeline representatives said the gasoline pipeline, Line 1, will likely remain shut down the rest of this week. Line 2, which transports diesel, jet fuel and other distillates, was restarted late Oct. 31 and is expected to remain in operation.
