FMCSA tells states to ban drivers with drug, alcohol strikes
The agency will begin requiring states to downgrade the licenses of drivers who have a positive drug or alcohol test that lands them in the Clearinghouse, while also prohibiting states from making certain CDL transactions for drivers in the database.

Bobir M. Kholmurodov has been effectively shut down after he ran a red light in Michigan, hit a car and fled the scene before later being caught with a blood alcohol content of 0.17 – more than four times the legal limit for truck drivers.
